At 1947 Sawtelle Blvd in West Los Angeles’ Little Osaka strip, a black-and-red storefront marked Curry House CoCo Ichibanya has been dishing out build-your-own Japanese curry since it opened its doors here in May 2023. As of this writing it’s still very much open and busy — diners were posting about the lines spilling onto the patio as recently as September 2026 — and it remains one of the few places in the city where a bowl of curry comes with a four-step customization system instead of a fixed menu.
