Amazon’s smart display lineup looks nothing like it did a few years ago. The Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen) — famous for a motorized base that physically swiveled the screen to follow you around a room — is no longer the device Amazon leads with, and it’s increasingly hard to find in stock as a new purchase. Its replacement is the Echo Show 11, a wider, stationary display that launched in November 2025 as the centerpiece of Amazon’s biggest Echo hardware refresh in years, built specifically around the company’s new Alexa+ assistant. If you’re shopping for a smart display in late 2026, this is the model that now occupies the spot the Show 10 used to hold.

What Replaced the Swivel

Amazon unveiled the Echo Show 11 on September 30, 2025, alongside a redesigned Echo Show 8 (4th Gen), the Echo Dot Max, and a new Echo Studio — the company’s largest single refresh of its Echo speaker and display hardware in years. Shipping began November 12, 2025. The headline change is the screen: a 10.95-inch Full HD panel at 1920 x 1200 resolution, noticeably sharper and wider than the Show 10’s 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800 display. What’s gone is the rotating base that made the third-generation Show 10 distinctive — the Show 11’s display is fixed in place on its speaker housing, though Amazon sells a separate magnetic adjustable stand for anyone who wants to angle the screen. Reviewers who covered the launch, including TechRadar, called it the most high-end Echo Show screen Amazon has shipped.

The Hardware Underneath

Powering the Show 11 is Amazon’s new AZ3 Pro chip, the same silicon running the refreshed Show 8 and the new Echo Studio, and it’s the first Echo Show processor built to handle on-device requests for Alexa+ rather than routing everything through the cloud. The front-facing camera jumps to 13 megapixels with auto-framing, an upgrade from the Show 10’s 13MP motorized camera that relied on physical rotation to keep a subject centered — the Show 11 instead crops and pans digitally. Audio comes from a pair of oblong, fabric-wrapped speakers mounted behind the display with a dedicated woofer, tuned for spatial sound rather than the Show 10’s simpler stereo pair. Like its predecessor, it doubles as a smart home hub, but with broader radio support: Zigbee, Thread, and Matter are all built in, so it can act as the controller for compatible locks, lights, and sensors without a separate hub.

Alexa+ Is the Real Pitch

The Echo Show 11 ships with access to Alexa+, Amazon’s generative-AI overhaul of the assistant, on the account used to set it up. In practice that means more conversational, context-aware responses — asking it to “find a reservation for four near the ballpark Friday” or “summarize what’s in my fridge-cam feed” works closer to a real assistant than the old command-and-response Alexa. The Show 10 (3rd Gen) never got a comparable AI upgrade; Amazon built Alexa+ around the newer AZ3 Pro silicon, which is a large part of why the company moved on from the older display rather than updating it in place.

Price and Where It Sits in the Lineup

The Echo Show 11 launched at $219.99 in Graphite and Glacier White. Amazon raised the list price to $249.99 in August 2026, citing higher memory and storage component costs across its device lineup — but the device rarely sells at that number. It’s been discounted repeatedly through 2026, including drops to $189.99 around Labor Day and as low as $149.99 during a Prime Day promotion, so shoppers who wait for a sale event typically pay well under list. It sits in the middle of Amazon’s current three-tier display range: the compact 8-inch Echo Show 8 (4th Gen) starts around $149.99, the Show 11 anchors the mid-size tier, and the 21-inch Echo Show 21 — Amazon’s largest display, designed for wall-mounting or countertop use as a kitchen hub — tops the range at $399.99.

Should You Still Look for the Show 10?

If you specifically want the motorized, subject-tracking swivel — useful for video calls or workout follow-along content where the Show 10 would rotate to keep you in frame — that feature hasn’t carried over to any current Echo Show model, and new Show 10 (3rd Gen) units are no longer a standard Amazon listing. For anyone buying new today, the Echo Show 11 is the direct successor: a bigger, sharper screen, a far more capable processor, broader smart home radio support, and access to Alexa+, all for a street price that frequently undercuts the old Show 10’s original $249.99 launch price. The trade-off is the loss of that signature swivel — a fair exchange, most reviewers have concluded, for a screen and assistant that are both meaningfully better than what they replaced.
