Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we get most often about Traroro, how we work, and what to expect.
What is Traroro?
Traroro is an independent media outlet covering seven beats: Travel, Food, Lifestyle, Beauty, Pop Culture, AI, and Cooking. We publish new coverage daily and translate our full archive into Traditional Chinese, so the site works for English and Chinese-speaking readers alike.
How do you pick what to cover?
Every article is built around something a reader can actually verify — a real itinerary we’d recommend walking yourself, a named award from a real body (Michelin, a named “World’s 50 Best” list, a design award), a specific product with a real price. We’d rather publish less and be right than chase a trend with nothing behind it.
Why is some content available in Traditional Chinese?
A large part of our audience reads in Traditional Chinese, so most articles are translated and published at the same URL with a /zh/ prefix. You can switch languages using the selector in the corner of any page.
Do your articles contain affiliate links?
Some do. Where an article mentions a specific product or bookable activity, we sometimes link to it through an affiliate program (including Amazon Associates and Klook) and may earn a small commission if you make a qualifying purchase or booking — at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we write: a product’s inclusion in an article isn’t contingent on an affiliate relationship, and our recommendations aren’t for sale. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
How do I subscribe to the newsletter?
You’ll find a subscribe form in the footer of every page. We send it to confirm your email (so a stranger can’t sign you up without consent) and to keep spam off our list — check your inbox for a confirmation link after you sign up. We don’t sell or share your email address.
What is Cooking852?
Cooking852 is our Cantonese cooking podcast. Each episode pairs with a written technique breakdown published on the same page, so you can follow along even if you’re not watching or listening at that moment. Find it on the Podcast page.
Is the Traroro shop open?
Not yet — our shop of travel-ready gear is still in development, which is why products there currently aren’t purchasable. We’ll announce it through the newsletter and on the Shop page once it’s ready.
What else is Traroro building?
Three projects are in development alongside the shop: our first mobile game, an original e-book, and a native iOS app. Each has its own page — Games, E-Book, and iOS App — and the newsletter is the fastest way to hear the moment any of them ship.
Can I write or pitch a story for Traroro?
Yes — we’re always open to pitches from writers with real, specific knowledge of a place, dish, product category, or beat. Visit our Contact page and tell us what you have in mind.
I found a factual error — what should I do?
Please tell us. Message us through the Contact page with the article link and what’s wrong — we read every message and correct real errors promptly.
How do I reach Traroro directly?
